남백송 南白松 (본명: 김지환 金志煥 , 1935년 11월 1일~2015년 9월 30일)은 대한민국의  원로 트로트  가수 겸 작곡가이다. 예명은 밀양에 위치한 남천강의 남과 천연기념물인 백송을 합쳐  남백송이라 지었다. 

초기 예명으로 김남욱 金南旭 을 사용하기도 하였다.

 

가수가 되기 위해 모친의 금반지를 가지고 고향 삼랑진을 떠나  상경했다는...,

2014년 가요무대 집계에 따르면 가요무대 최다 출연을 기록하였다고 한다.

2015년  노환으로 별세하였다.

'흰모래 사막' 국가 기념물, 뉴멕시코, 미국

 

 

Mystical and magical, the expansive desert of White Sands National Monument is one of nature’s most unusual marvels.

신비하고 불가사의한  "흰모래언덕" 국가기념물(White Sands National Monument)의 광활한 사막은 자연의 가장 특이한 경이[驚異]중 의  하나이다.

Covering 275 square miles (712sq km) inside New Mexico's Tularosa Basin, the dunes are formed from 'gypsum sand' – a rare mineral found in only a few locations on Earth.

뉴멕시코의 툴라로사 분지내  712km2를 차지하는 이 모래 언덕은 지구상 몇 곳에서만  발견되는 희귀 광물인 '석고 모래'로 이루어져 있다.

 

The sand dissolves in water but luckily the state's dry climate is the perfect breeding ground for this rare and wonderful material.

모래는 물에 녹지만 다행히 이 주의 건조한 기후는 이 희귀하고 경이로운 물질이 완벽하게 유지되는 토대가 되고 있다.

 

 

Stretching 275 square miles in southern New Mexico, the White Sands National Monument has long been a favorite spot among road-trippers and photographers. But the beautiful site just received the ultimate upgrade: On Dec. 20, 2019, President Donald Trump signed a bill that changed the name of the monument to White Sands National Park. The landmark is now the United States's 62nd official national park, ranking it among such giants as Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon.

Semantics aside, there's no denying that the White Sands deserves national recognition. The sprawling park is the world's largest gypsum dune field (gypsum is a common rock material that reflects light, giving the dunes their dazzling look), forming close to 10,000 years ago, according to the National Park Service. Blowing winds have created a sort of wave-like appearance over the years, resulting in the dreamy effect we see today.

 

 

 The shimmering dunes are actually made of gypsum – not sand.  the largest dunefield in the world!
