Yarkyi 2020 Musical Tribute to His Holiness the Dalai Lama: Watch LIVE on Tibet TV at 5 pm (IST), 1 July 2020
Dharamshala: As part of the Central Tibetan Administration’s ‘Year of Gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’ and in celebration of His Holiness’ upcoming 85th birthday, TIPA’s Yarkyi 2020 will be live telecast on Tibet TV at 5 pm (IST) today.
For the first time, viewers from across the globe will be able to watch the full program of Yarkyi LIVE on Tibet TV.
Ever since the Wuhan-originated COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, social restrictions have been imposed to curb the spread of the disease. In view of these circumstances, the Kashag-led CTA has moved to broadcast Yarkyi Live from Dharamshala to benefit people around the world, especially those suffering in the pandemic.
“We also hope that through this initiative, we are able to spread some joy and happiness during this challenging period,” said Sikong Dr Lobsang Sangay.”
This year’s Yarkyi is dedicated to honouring His Holiness’ lifelong service to humanity, promotion of human values and his tireless commitment to the Tibetan cause and the people.
The Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts which is a pioneer Tibetan cultural institute for preservation and promotion of Tibetan musical heritage and arts is one among the countless achievements of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his far-sighted vision.
